Mullen-Roth Associate Director for Education SUBJECT: Ethics Workshops in San Diego, California The U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE) will conduct three different ethics training workshops in San Diego, California on February 23-24, 1998. Ethics officials are invited to attend any or all of the scheduled workshops. The workshop titles, dates and times are listed below: Misuse of Position Mon, 02/23/98 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Post Employment Tue, 02/24/98 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Gifts Between Employees Tue, 02/24/98 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. The Misuse of Position course provides a broad overview of Subpart G and includes a four-step approach to determine whether proposed actions are prohibited by the misuse subpart. The Post-Employment workshop is designed to cover the post- employment statute, 18 U.S.C. § 297, and include student exercises and group discussion. The Gifts Between Employees workshop is designed to provide a general overview of Subpart C of the Standards of Conduct. All workshops are offered FREE to each agency. However, advance registration is required. Each person planning to attend MUST register by faxing a completed registration form to OGE by Wednesday, February 18, 1998. Registration will be handled on a first-come basis and each workshop is limited to 40 participants. NO TELEPHONE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Registration forms are attached.
