SUBJECT:  Inspectors' General Training
     

     On May 20 and 29, 1997 the Office of Government Ethics will
participate with the Public Integrity Section of the Department of
Justice and the Office of Special Counsel in two one-day "Ethics
Issues" programs.  The program on May 20 will be for members of the
President's Council on Integrity and Efficiency.  The program on 
May 29 will be presented to the Executive Council on Integrity and
Efficiency.  

     In our view, participation in this program fulfills the one-
hour training requirement under our regulations and we would
encourage you to accept the Inspectors' General participation as
meeting their requirement for this calendar year.
