Ethics questions can arise not only when you move from a Government job to the private sector, but also when you move from the private sector to a Government job. Moving from the private sector to the Government is sometimes called the "reverse revolving door."

When you enter a Government job from the private sector, ethics issues may arise:

  1. as a result of your continuing financial interest in your former private sector employer,
  2. from payments received from your former private sector employer, or
  3. from the appearance that you are not impartial in your dealings with your former private sector employer.
