The Procurement U.S. Capitol BuildingIntegrity Act

The Procurement Integrity Act imposes additional requirements on you if you are performing specific procurement related functions. These functions are: the specification or statement of work; the evaluation of bids or proposals, or the selection of a source; negotiation of price or terms and conditions of a contract; or the review or approval of the award of a contract.

If you are participating in any of these activities (or in a covered procurement), you have the following obligations if you contact, or are contacted by, a bidder or offeror regarding possible employment:

  1. Promptly report the employment contact, in writing, to both your supervisor and designated agency ethics official and;
  2. Either:
    • reject the possibility of employment, or
    • do not work on the procurement until the agency has authorized you to resume participation.

Note: You must also submit a written disqualification notice to the contracting officer, the source selection authority, and your immediate supervisor.
