Additionally, if you're working on an agency contract with the contractor who would be performing personal services for you, you need to be careful to avoid the appearance that you're using your authority over the contractor to coerce or induce the contractor into providing personal services or favorable treatment. 

If the personal work involves anything other than a routine consumer transaction, working on a Government matter involving that contractor will present the appearance of partiality and may require you to stop working on agency matters involving the contractor.  For all of these reasons, you should contact your agency ethics official if you want to hire an agency contractor for outside personal business.
